"Nomi is a fresh take on Indian cuisine, blending traditional flavours with a unique, contemporary twist. Our dishes are paired with an exclusive yet affordable range of wines, setting us apart. This family-owned endeavour is the fruit of the collaborative efforts of Nomi and Kartik. The essence of our kitchen is embodied in the name Nomi, which means 'beautiful' and 'delightful' in Japanese. My partner Nomi was initially uncertain if her name would align with our culinary approach and overall theme. However, she eventually recognized the simplicity and personal relevance, hence, Nomi Wine and Kitchen was established in Pwllheli.
Nomi, originally from Assam, India, famed for its black tea, contributes her dedication to perfection and detail to our restaurant. Though her primary profession is dentistry, her seriousness about perfection and beautification enabled her to adapt swiftly to the hospitality industry. She holds the philosophy of treating our restaurant's guests as if they were visitors in our own home, a testament to her natural knack for hosting. Choosing Pwllheli as our location was an easy decision, as its tranquil environment and incredible community perfectly align with our vision. Its breathtaking beauty, encompassing mountains and a coastline, reminds me of my home in Shimla, India. We owe a debt of gratitude to our friend Neil and his family for their constant love and support.
At Nomi, our goal is to provide everyone who walks through our doors with respect, impeccable service, exceptional food, and an unforgettable experience. We look forward to the adventures that lie ahead in Pwllheli, North Wales. We would like to extend our deepest thanks to all our family, friends, and well-wishers who have been our pillars of strength throughout this journey."
